What Happened?

The day after the elections, my oldest sent me an email wanting to rub my face in the election results.  This is the first time he has contacted me after realizing that I might have voted for Trump.

Several months ago, I wrote to Trump concerning the war with Iran.  As I saw it, Trump was dragging out the war to feed his ego. Yeah, that is what I said.  I told him that he appeared weak as he danced with the Iranians.  He is a deal-maker, and he was going to drag out the war to get the deal that he was looking for.  I explained that most folks realize that any deal with Iran was impossible and that he should wipe out the Islamist terrorists that had taken over Iran.  The Iranian people needed to be given their land back.

I am not going to say that had Trump listened to me, the midterms might have gone differently, but I think it is a big cause for the frustration people are feeling towards him.  You can’t promise a short war and then keep drawing it out to confirm that you still have  it as “THE deal-maker.”

People didn’t vote to support Iranian terrorists; they voted their frustration over Trump not living up to his promises.  You can’t Make America Great Again until you set aside your ego and do what is right for the Country.  People voted to put Trump’s ego in check.

We live in a fallen world.  Our strength is not in our politics; our strength is in the Lord.  We need to see this as it really is: the results of the midterm election do nothing to change God’s plan.
